Train Hopping Watch

Train Hopping Watch

The purpose of this page is to provide resources for law enforcement,
railroad police, and concerned citizens to enable them to better monitor internet
coverage of this dangerous and illegal activity.

Unauthorized use of this site by train hoppers looking for information
is strictly forbidden!

Unfortunately when you put information on the internet everyone
can access it. Recent traffic on freight train hopper mailing lists indicates that
freight train hoppers are making unauthorized use of this page, so this page has
been given an additional mission. Now in addition to its main purpose it is also
designed to lure unsuspecting freight train hopping thrill seekers to a location
where they can hopefully learn a little about freight train hopping safety. I apologize
to the concerned citizens who this material offend.

Tales of single rides

Once train hoppers collected their stories into great archives on just a few web
sites that made an easy target for the rail road police. After the great crack down
of the summer of 1998 train hoppers began to adopt a dangerous new tactic. Some are
putting each story at a different site in order to make them less vunerable to attacks
by special agents on any single web master. Others are creating smaller sites with
just stories of their own rides.

Rail relics lists Dead Train Bums as a cool site.

http://www.thespoon.com/trainhop/train2b.html

Wes modes says about this page: An even more shrilly hysterical page that
"reveals the truth about hopping trains." It begins obstensively with the
kind-hearted notion of keeping people from getting hurt on the rails. However, it
reveals a certain glee at the thought of scummy, free-loading, criminal train-riding
bums getting everything they have coming to them

Combat RailFans
Links page links to this page and they have this to say:

Dead Train Bums, You may have seen this link on the Donner Pass warniing page
but here it is again. If you are giving hopping a freight some thought take a look
at this site first. There are also some good links here that present catching out
in a more positive light.

http://www.railserve.com/switchyard/Freight_Railroads_Page/

Railserve.com contains a lot of links to Freight Railroads and even contains a
link to this site it says:

"Dead Train Bums - Explains the dangers of train hopping; by Eric Jackson
"

http://freighthopping.ml.org/

This extreamly responcible treatment of the subject of train hopping lists dead
train bums as "Required reading"
